There’s never a dull moment when you’re a Hog Roast Alcester caterer. Our job gives us the unique opportunity to play an active role in the most important life moments of our clients, and we are always excited to see how they choose to celebrate such occasions.
Take weddings, for example. Dubbed the most important day of a couple’s life, weddings are typically large affairs that usually take anywhere between 12 and 18 months to plan. In most cases, the whole family gets involved somehow, whether that be through offering advice or assisting with the planning. But not every couple takes this approach to arranging a wedding.
Our most recent clients, Simon and Alisha, weren’t keen on having a big wedding and they really didn’t want a huge fuss. So, instead, they decided to throw an intimate ”engagement party” with just 20 guests; made up of their closest friends and family members. In reality, this engagement do was actually their wedding day – their guests just didn’t know it!
Simon and Alisha had planned everything meticulously, and they asked Hog Roast Alcester to treat their guests to our Alfresco Menu. We were more than happy to take part in the couple’s surprise wedding and proudly prepared a suckling slow-roasted pig with crispy pork rinds, sage and onion stuffing and applesauce accompaniments ahead of the guests’ arrival.
The guests were taken aback when they realised that the engagement party was actually a wedding ceremony. The surprise element made the affair all the more exciting, and everybody was speechless for a moment. As the shock subsided, the guests started congratulating the newlyweds and settled down for the ceremony, after which they were invited to get stuck into the food!
Hog Roast Alcester’s Alfresco Menu was a perfect fit for the occasion. From the succulent meat and flavourful veggie burgers to the vibrant antipasti platters and wholesome sides, everything on the menu was prepared to perfection. The guests also enjoyed an array of side dishes, including salads, coleslaw and roasted potatoes.
The newlyweds were pleased with how the catering turned out. They appreciated how Hog Roast Alcester’s professionalism and attention to detail added to their special day. The guests also had a fabulous time and we’re certain they’ll be talking about this day for a long time to come!
