Hog Roast Whitley had the pleasure of catering for the lovely newlyweds Becky and Justin. They had a super cool venue at an airfield and plane museum. The hanger was surrounded by old-fashioned planes including fighter jets. Becky and Justin had turned the inside into an enchanting wedding venue with fairy lights and photo peg bunting, it was truly romantic.
Hog Roast Whitley had the challenge of feeding 200 people their super delicious Southern menu for Becky and Justin’s wedding breakfast. 200 people is the biggest amount they have ever had to cater for with their Southern menu.
Choices! Becky and Justin choose bourbon BBQ pulled pork butt, Texan-BBQ pulled beef brisket and Cajun-spiced chicken. Absolutely delicious options! All the meats get slowly roasted on low heat making them completely fall apart and incredibly tender. They choose four side dishes; incredibly cheesy Mac and cheese, crispy sweet potato fries, exotic fresh Greek salad and homemade crunchy coleslaw. The Mac and cheese is always a popular option with guests!
Liaising with Becky, Hog Roast Whitley had come to the agreement to do Mediterranean vegetable couscous stuffed peppers for her 10 vegetarians. All the vegetarian guests were pleased with this as the option, and of course could enjoy the Mac and cheese, sweet potato fries and the salads as well.
The anomaly, a guest who was vegan and gluten free. Neither Becky or Hog Roast Whitley were aware of this requirement. However, there was no need to panic. If they had just been vegan, they would have been able too have the couscous filled pepper, however being gluten free meant that they couldn’t eat the couscous. Thankfully, Hog Roast Whitley always provides gluten and dairy free rolls. The way the Greek salad is prepped, to avoid the cheese becoming particularly soggy, the feta does not get added until it gets popped into the bowl for service, therefore, she was able to have some salad. The sweet potato fries were also safe for her to eat as sometimes people but a coating containing gluten on them, thankfully Hog Roast Whitley don’t do that!
All guests were happy with their food, especially the bride and groom who came up for seconds!
