For Hog Roast Coleshill’s catering team, the month of November started off with a bang; and I know that you’re thinking, but no, it wasn’t just because of bonfire night! On the 1st of the month, our team was actually invited along to the nearby HFD branch for an all-day corporate event.
For just shy of 3 decades, HFD has been Responsible for supplying and distributing floorcoverings to customers and businesses across Europe, and with last year seeing a huge profit increase for the company, they decided to open another trade counter on top of their 53 already successful ones that are located throughout the UK. This opening called for a huge celebration, which Hog Roast Coleshill was proud to be a part of.
Prior to the function, the organiser, Christopher, had spoken to our catering manager, Russ, about his expectations for the event. For example, with a total of 120 people expected to attend across three separate serving slots, there was absolutely no room for error when it came to timing. Russ assured Christopher that Hog Roast Coleshill was up to the task and would not disappoint on any aspect of their responsibilities. Hearing Russ’ assurances certainly made Christopher feel a lot more relaxed in the lead up to the event.
When the day of the function came, Russ and the Hog Roast Coleshill team headed off to the industrial lot before the sun was even up. With the first serving scheduled between 8 and 10:30 am, the team had no time to waste, and so they got started cooking the full-size hog with crackling, stuffing and applesauce sides, as well as the meatless alternative of grilled veggie skewers (halloumi optional) right away.
After the first 60 guests had happily devoured their fill, our team had two hours to spare before the next 60 appeared, who turned out to be just as impressed with the spread as the group who’d come before them! The last group, made up of 40 people, dined much later that evening, and they too had plenty of great things to say about Hog Roast Coleshill’s mouth-watering hog roast!
