An event doesn’t always have to have hundreds of guests for it to be considered a spectacular occasion. If you ask anyone at Hog Roast Dunchurch, we’d say that all you really need is a few great people, a brilliant location and some mind-blowing food to create a memorable experience!
Take one of our most recent bookings, for example. Our client, Dr Shico Kanagasundrem MBE, had planned an intimate party in celebration of being awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours list! The exciting achievement came following her decades of devotion to the microbiology, infection prevention and control fields. But her work during the COVID-19 response alone was definitely deserving of the prestigious accolade.
In honour of the well-deserved achievement, Shico had organised a cosy get-together for 15 people at the one and only Windsor Guildhall – which, as you might know, has been the venue of choice for many famous nuptials; including that of Prince Charles and Camilla, Elton John and more!
Despite being over 300-years-old, Windsor Guildhall has maintained all the charm and class it did when it was first built many moons ago. Kitted out with authentic antique furniture, real oil paintings and gilded cornices on every ceiling, you can bet that it doesn’t get much more regal than this. So, it was a real honour for Hog Roast Dunchurch when Shico asked if we could cater at this marvellous location.
When the day of the event arrived, our catering manager, Russ, and the rest of the Hog Roast Dunchurch team spent the morning tirelessly preparing for the luncheon. Like a well-oiled machine, they worked hard to create a formal 3-course menu, which began with a drinks service and platters of handmade canape options. These consisted of beer-battered mini fish and chips, roasted halloumi and tomato crostini, roasted duck wraps and spring rolls, chicken liver parfait and mini quiche, which was perfect for getting the guests ready for the feast to come!
After the canapes had been devoured, Russ laid our Italian antipasti platters for everyone to dig into, which was followed by succulent and tender, slow-roasted joints of lamb or pork with Thai salad.
Shico and the guests were extremely impressed with the food Hog Roast Dunchurch prepared and rounding the afternoon off perfectly, our crew wowed them one last time with a trio of tasty desserts: sticky toffee pudding, cheesecake and citron au tarte.
