Looking back on fond memories of a very special occasion like your wedding day or a landmark birthday, you’ll more often than not remember the food you enjoyed on the day. When it comes to the magnificence of a centrepiece hog roast Wolvey, this kind of cooking instils long-lasting memories of amazing smells as well as sights and tastes, so why not treat you and your guests to a sizzling, mouth-watering, aroma-filled experience that none of you will ever easily forget?
For Shane and Sophie’s surprise engagement announcement, they wanted to surprise their guests with a winter warmer hog roast Wolvey as well as their happy news. Sophie has been recommended to us by a work colleague who had told her our friendly staff had provided unbeatable service at a competitive price and that the food itself has been incredible – all of which is what we strive for, so it’s always great to hear.
We talked through various menu options with the couple before settling on a winter warmer. With your choice of meat and seasonal vegetables, this menu is most suitable for one of the colder months of the year, especially when you’re enjoying an outdoor hog roast Wolvey. We can cook inside using our machines, depending on the size of the space and ventilation, but most of the time we cater outside.
For their choice of veg, Shane and Sophie requested roasted parsnips, carrots, turnips and shallots sprinkled with rosemary and garlic, which we would cook at the bottom of the hog roasting machine. There would be a vegan guest at the party, and this dish would be suitable as it’s prepared and cooked separately to the meat, but Sophie asked us to whip up an aubergine tart instead, in case the guest was uncomfortable with it being cooked near to the hog. We know a thing or two about catering for additional dietary requirements and will happily oblige, as long as we have advance notice.
On the day of the surprise engagement, we roasted the medium-sized hog from scratch at the couple’s home and later cooked a large tray of vegetables and the aubergine tart. All of the food was gobbled down with relish and we had plenty of guests asking for more.
