At this festive time of year, a lot of people like to give something back and a great way of doing that is by giving to charity. We were recently contacted by Harriet who was hosting a Christmas charity gala where she had invited local businesses, friends and family as well as people from the local community to come along and enjoy an evening of good food and entertainment all whilst raising money for a good cause; the local homeless charity.
Having been planning the event for several months now Harriet was eager to book a caterer who would be able to provide food for so many people whilst still maintaining a high standard and quality of food. Having been recommended to Hog Roast Hartshill by some of her friends, Harriet looked us up and got booked in right away. When we spoke to her over the phone, we admired her enthusiasm and couldn’t wait to get stuck in to help give something back this Christmas time.
The idea of the event was that local companies and performers would donate prizes and performances to the event whilst guests would pay to attend with over half of ticket sales going directly to the charity. Hog Roast Hartshill were honoured to be asked to cater!
When the day of the event arrived, we turned up on site all suited and booted (with our aprons on of course) ready for the event. We had been given a lovely spot from which to cater in the courtyard and got our gazebo set up straight away. We had been told to expect around four hundred guests, so we were sure to have our work cut out for us- luckily it was all for such a good cause!
