Hog Roast Leek Wootton Rounded Off October With An Autumnal Market

October is by far one of the busiest months we face here at Hog Roast Leek Wootton, and it would suffice to say that this year was no different! With plenty of seasonal bookings to keep us on our toes – which ranged anywhere from Halloween-inspired corporate gatherings and family-friendly pumpkin trails to autumnal wedding celebrations and Gourmet deliveries – our catering crew spent much of the last four weeks whipping up countless mouth-watering feasts for all sorts of different occasions. And before rounding off the month completely, our team took part in one of the last of the autumn markets for the year.

Hog Roast Leek WoottonCommunity events organiser, Matthew, had spent several weeks planning for the outdoor experience. Knowing that hog roasts are always a huge hit with patrons, (especially at this side of the year!), he had gotten in touch with Hog Roast Leek Wootton ahead of time.

Even though getting to the location required a fair bit of travel on our part, our team were keen to get involved right away. And with our catering manager instantly taking the reins, Matthew couldn’t have asked for a more reliable and friendly bunch to handle the task.

Gearing up for the hectic afternoon ahead, the Hog Roast Leek Wootton team arrived at the city centre venue in the not-so-bright, but definitely early hours of the morning! So early in fact that they were one of the first vendors to begin setting up a stall.

Abiding by lockdown regulations and social distancing measures, the team pitched the catering gazebo at a safe distance from where the other caterers would be, before getting started on the delicious, hog roast spread.

Using our HogMaster machine, the catering team slowly roasted the full-size pig, using the aromatic juices to cook the sage and onion stuffing for a more flavourful impact. For vegetarians and vegans, the crew had prepared BBQ pulled jackfruit and grilled veggie kebabs with tzatziki dip, ensuring a fully inclusive menu for everyone.

Arriving guests were quick to make a stop at the Hog Roast Leek Wootton tent, where they eagerly collected generous-sized portions of juicy pulled pork, crispy crackling and applesauce stuffed into gluten-free rolls, resulting in an otherworldly flavour combo!
