It’s always a pleasure for Hog Roast Stratford-Upon-Avon to cater in our lovely medieval market town, regardless of the event we’re attending, but we recently catered a romantic wedding reception locally, just outside of the town in nearby countryside, at Alveston Pastures Farm, and it was a pure delight. The farm can be found in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside and features formal gardens and even its own maze. With self-catering accommodation and an 18th century Coach House, it’s ideal for a romantic break or, of course, a wedding reception like the one we were asked to cater.
For the 100 guests attending, this wedding catering would include an alfresco dining menu with antipasti platters and mains of lamb and sausages. You may be surprised to hear this from a hog roast caterer, but we actually offer so much more than you may imagine. We can cook various spit-roasted meats, barbecued sausages and burgers, or marinated meats, provide salads or sides of vegetables and potatoes, and even canapés or desserts if preferred. When it’s your event that you’re planning, whether your wedding or a private party or corporate function, you need variety and choice to ensure all your guests can enjoy the food, and we have plenty.
For this wedding, Hog Roast Stratford-Upon-Avon was also asked to provide gluten-free bread rolls. We have lots of options for guests on special diets, so guests with a gluten allergy or intolerance can still get to eat our sumptuous pigs in buns, for example, and vegetarians and vegans can enjoy homemade dishes whipped up by our dedicated chefs. With advance notice, everyone will be fed well on your special occasion.
On the day of the wedding, Hog Roast Stratford-Upon-Avon arrived hours before the food service in order to roast the lamb and prepare the rest of the yummy offerings. We served tea and coffee throughout the day and then served the beautifully-cooked feast to the hungry guests. For dessert, the bride and groom had asked their guests to bring their own, for a ‘wedding bake-off’, and we served the lovely puddings, which finished off the meal very nicely.
