Hog Roast Halesowen Catered For A Midsummer Night’s Wedding

As the birthplace of literary legend and the playwright behind the most famous couple in world history (Romeo and Juliet, of course), William Shakespeare has certainly left his mark on his home county of Warwickshire. And as big fans of his works, Oliver and Grace had decided to base the theme of their entire wedding around their favourite Shakespearean play: A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

With lots of fantasy-based and ethereal elements running through this play, the couple had planned to host their ceremony and reception in an outdoor woodland setting, followed by a rustic meal, which – yes, you guessed it – is the part that Hog Roast Halesowen had been called in to assist with!

Though we have catered at more weddings than we could possibly count, our team were ecstatic when Oliver and Grace revealed to us that we had been their first choice of caterer, and they were so relieved that we had an opening on the exact day they needed us.

Hog Roast HalesowenOur catering manager, Russ, was also eager to help the couple find their perfect menu, which given their criteria, turned out to be our Alfresco Wedding Menu, which is both informal and beautifully presented. For Oliver and Grace, the menu was a winner from the start, and Russ’s excellent suggestion proved they had been right to trust Hog Roast Halesowen with their wedding breakfast all along.

The day itself was truly spectacular, with fairy lights hanging from and wrapped around the trunk of every tree in the vicinity; floral garlands covered the table tops, and petals formed a thick carpet on the forest floor. Russ and the Hog Roast Halesowen team had arrived at the magical location in the mid-morning, where, with the temperature yet to creep into the high 20’s, they had been able to comfortably erect the gazebo and prepare the ingredients for cooking.

Soon, their hard work resulted in an exquisite banquet of a whole roasted free-range pig with a selection of stunningly arranged side salads, delicious potatoes and summer pudding and tarte au citron for afters. For each of the tables, the team had also prepared truly tasty charcuterie boards, which overflowed with rich Italian meats, cheeses, sundried tomatoes, olives and fresh-baked bread.

The meal complemented the occasion perfectly, and the bride and groom, Oliver and Grace, were over the moon with the level of detail Hog Roast Halesowen had put into the food.
