Vowing to spend the rest of your life with the person you love most in the whole world is a sacred commitment for many people, and while the average age to tie the knot in the UK is 31, there are those who don’t meet their soulmates until a little bit later in their life journey.
Attesting to this, a growing number of people are choosing to get married later in life! And proving that you’re never too old to find love, our most recent clients, David and Susan, exchanged vows on Saturday afternoon at the ages of 65 and 58, respectively!
For Hog Roast Corley, being included in this very special celebration was a huge honour, and we are delighted to share that everything went swimmingly on the day! The couple had boosted for a breath taking Georgian-era manor house for their venue, which they filled with over 200 guests.
The atmosphere was vibrant and light-hearted, and after the group had been snapped by the photographer, they flooded into the dining hall, where the Hog Roast Corley staff waited to greet them all with a variety of drink options and platters of roasted duck, mini quiches, mini pizzas, roasted halloumi and tomato crostini and smoked Scottish salmon canapes.
The entrée went down a treat and helped to whet the guests’ appetites for the main meal! First, though, everyone found their seats and prepared for a whirlwind of hilarity, courtesy of the wedding party speeches, and after everyone had raised their glass for one final toast, Hog Roast Corley rolled out the buffet!
Catering to everyone’s dietary needs, Hog Roast Corley, fronted by our catering manager, Jon, had prepared a succulent turkey dinner, which featured moist and tender free-range turkey slices with sage and onion stuffing, cranberry sauce, a selection of seasonal leaves, dauphinoise potatoes and fresh market vegetables. There was also the option of grilled vegetables and halloumi kebabs for veggie/vegan guests, along with gourmet hot dogs and mixed fries for the children.
For dessert, our team served vacherins of strawberries and passion fruit cream and sticky toffee pudding, followed by a tea and coffee service with a slice of wedding cake. Delicious!
