Charity Ball – Hog Roast Southam

We pride ourselves here at hog roast Southam in not only providing fantastic food to some of the most important days in people’s lives such as special birthdays, weddings and christenings but we are also often involved in catering for brilliant events which aim to raise money for some wonderful causes. At our most recent charity event for hog roast Southam, we were invited to provide food for a formal charity ball which was raising money for a well known children’s charity. The ball was being held at a large function room which was delightfully decorated with large round tables complete with fantastic candle and flower themed center pieces, beautiful chandeliers and even a red carpet to greet guests on their arrival!

As this was a formal, black tie event it seemed only right that when we met with the organisers we decided on one of our more formal menu styles. First, our serving team helped to welcome guests to the venue as they arrived in their tuxedos and ball gowns with glasses of champagne and a non-alcoholic cocktails for those not drinking. With all guests arrived, our team got to work in serving a range of delicious, home made canapes for guests to enjoy alongside their drinks as they chatted and met with fellow guests, family and friends. We had decided on four freshly prepared canapes for the occasion; delicious wholegrain glazed gourmet sausages, moreish chicken satay skewers, hand stretched mini pizzas and my all time favourite, delicately moulded chinese dim sum. They went down a treat – and provided just the right amount of food to whet the guests appetite before the main event later in the evening.

IMG_6385As if often the case with venues like these, we are unable to cook indoors due to inadequate ventilation, however this fantastic place had a brilliant terrace outside which allowed guests to come and see what we were cooking and how we prepared our hog roast Southam. Once it was time for dinner to be served after several guest speakers and some entertainment, we were able to serve our freshly cooked food to tables. On this particular evening we were serving a slow roasted, spit roast spring lamb garnished with beautiful sprigs of rosemary, homemade yorkshire pudding and a tasty dill sauce, as well as roast sirloin of beef, served with all the home comforts of a Sunday roast. We served our side dishes up to the tables in large dishes to allow guests to help themselves to a choice of golden roasted potatoes and finely sourced seasonal vegetables. What a wonderful evening – it was a delight to be able to provide food to an event with such a good cause!
