An Open-Air Theatre Performance Wouldn’t Be Complete Without Hog Roast Highley

This gorgeous summer weather has been the perfect welcome back for Hog Roast Highley, and last weekend our team had a blast after being asked to cater for an open-air community theatre performance which had been arranged by Natalie. The client had called us a few weeks prior to organise the food for the occasion which had successfully sold out of all 100 of its available tickets!

Hog Roast HighleyOf course, with a number of mouths to feed, and many of them with different dietary requirements, Natalie initially felt a little lost when it came to choosing the right food for the afternoon. But thankfully, with the help of our expert catering team at Hog Roast Highley, she was able to decide on the perfect menu – which this time around happened to be our southern slow roast feast! Offering a collection of our favourite American-style comfort foods, our southern slow roast menu has been a huge hit among our new and existing clients for years, and once you’ve tried it for yourself you’ll see why!

For the meat-lovers, Natalie had opted for a tasty selection of BBQ pork butt, Texan 24 hour beef brisket and cajun spiced whole roast chickens which were opposed by vegetarian-friendly alternatives of BBQ pulled jackfruit and grilled veggie skewers with chunks of halloumi cheese and tzatziki dip. Hog Roast Highley also provides inclusive side options, which for this event included buttery corn cobbettes, colourful salads, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside sweet potato wedges and Memphis style crunchy coleslaw, along with a basket overflowing with soft brioche rolls and wraps.

To ensure the food was ready in time for the show’s intermission, Hog Roast Highley arrived on site in the early morning which gave them plenty of time to slow roast the meats and whip up the drool-worthy side dishes. As always, the team’s time-keeping skills proved to be spot on – which was just as well given the number of hungry guests who had been eyeing up the buffet since their arrival!

The wait was well worth it, and as the actors took a much-needed break, the guests eagerly chowed down on the smoky BBQ flavours.
