The mini heatwave earlier this month, which saw temperatures soar to a delightful 21 degrees, set the stage perfectly for Julia and Calvin’s dreamy micro wedding!
Post-pandemic, micro weddings have become all the rage. Why? Because they’re intimate, less stressful, and make your budget go the extra mile, which is exactly what this loved-up pair were after! Julia and Calvin picked a charming 4-star boutique hotel as their wedding venue, complete with pristine gardens, lush greenery, and an idyllic pond featuring a quaint wooden bridge. They tied the knot in a romantic outdoor ceremony beneath an old oak tree, with 30 of their closest family and friends looking on.
Meanwhile, Hog Roast Caldecote was busy preparing the wedding feast nearby! Our catering manager, Jon, was in charge, and he proudly served our Alfresco Menu for the special occasion. The centrepiece of this feast was a full-sized pig, slow-roasted over real flames until it was golden brown and delicious. The meat, served pulled with crispy crackling, stuffing, and applesauce on gluten-free buns, was a flavour explosion that the guests couldn’t get enough of.
Hog Roast Caldecote’s homemade sides added a colourful and refreshing twist: roasted new potatoes, a selection of seasonal leaves, heritage tomato and mozzarella salad, and creamy coleslaw. It was a feast fit for the fabulous weather! Guests dined under the clear blue skies, soaking up the warm, balmy temperatures while indulging in the delicious spread. To make things even more exciting, Hog Roast Caldecote placed charcuterie boards at the centre of each table. These delightful platters featured Italian cheeses, deli meats, artisan bread, and a variety of dressings, offering guests a fun and tasty snacking option.
Once the savoury dishes were devoured, Hog Roast Caldecote rolled out the desserts. Tarte au citron and summer pudding provided light, sweet, and vibrant treats, perfectly suited for the beautiful summer day. The whole affair was a huge hit. Julia and Calvin’s intimate setting, combined with the exquisite food and fantastic weather, made for a wedding to remember. Hog Roast Caldecote was thrilled to be part of their special day, adding a flavour-packed punch to their celebration!
