Hog Roast Rednal – Gourmet Food Festival

We all know that food is essential for nourishing our bodies and satisfying our appetites. But beyond that, it also has a wonderful way of bringing families, and even communities, together! The tradition of celebrating this cultural heritage dates back as far as history extends, and in modern times food festivals have only become more elaborate, which has increased their overall popularity. On Saturday, foodie’s from all over the city united once again for a gourmet food festival, and Hog Roast Rednal was one of several caterers to attend.

Hog Roast RednalOur team are passionate about what we do, so when event planner, Stephen called to discuss details of the occasion, which had gained interest from upwards of 300 people, we couldn’t wait to get involved! Sticking to our roots, Hog Roast Rednal’s catering manager recommended our classic hog roast menu which offers newbie’s the perfect introduction to the timeless method of cooking meat.

With a hectic day ahead of them, the team set out in our trusty catering unit, which had been packed full of wholesome ingredients from local farms. Once they had pulled up at the venue (an open field where fellow food enthusiasts were beginning to set up their own stalls), Hog Roast Rednal quickly got to work by pitching the gazebo and making a start on roasting the large pig.

As time ticked on, the expansive field became adorned with a cluster of haphazard, and vibrantly coloured booths which offered an array of unique dishes from around the world. With moments left to spare before the festival was announced open for business, Hog Roast Rednal laid out a basket of freshly-baked gluten-free rolls and wraps alongside a string of condiments and dips.

By the time the ticket holders began making their way around the various stalls, the whole pig, which had been slow cooking in our Hogmaster Pro for six hours, was golden brown and covered in a layer of crispy crackling. As the food lovers approached the Hog Roast Rednal gazebo, the team happily filled their disposable plates with rolls which were spilling with juicy pulled pork, savoury stuffing and homemade applesauce.
