This week Hog Roast Polesworth had the pleasure of catering at a local function for our client David’s 30th birthday. David had gathered seventy of his closest friends and family to help him celebrate entering his thirties and had enlisted Hog Roast Polesworth to provide food for the party which was being held at his home.
For this event we had our catering manager Russ working together with his son Jay to provide our classic menu 1 for David’s birthday. This menu consists of a traditional whole roasted hog that we cook on our hog roasting machine for several hours to create only the most delicious meat. Before putting the hog onto roast it’s essential to add lots of sea salt and hot water that our catering teams then massage in. We do this in order to create the mouth-watering crispy crackling that Hog Roast Polesworth have become known for. Then we simply leave the hog to happily roast away for several hours. When serve time does arrive our skilled chefs, Russ and assistant Jay, are able to use minimal effort to carve the meat as it really does just fall off the bones its so succulent.
For todays vegetarian option we had our brilliant vegetarian skewers. For these skewers we roast the vegetables and then season and create the skewers just prior to serving in order to make sure they are as fresh as can be. David had also arranged for some of our accompaniments to be served including a fresh mixed salad, crunchy coleslaw and of course some chips meaning there would be something to suit everyone.
When we arrived at David’s home we were very aware of how much of a windy day it was. Hog Roast Polesworth can of course cater in any and all weather conditions due to our durable machines, however, David was kind enough to allow us to set up under the stables to provide us and the food with a bit of shelter which was very much appreciated!
All in all it was a lovely event and we were pleased to be able to help David celebrate his 30th!
