When Scott called Hog Roast Atherstone to book in a birthday party a while back, he asked us for a traditional hog roast for 40 guests but he also enquired about alternatives for vegetarians. We can cook all kinds of suitable dishes, including homemade quiches and stuffed vegetables or our chef can whip up a veggie burger, for example, but one of our most popular options is, without a doubt, our grilled veggie kebabs, with halloumi and fresh vegetables. Scott settled on just this, as well as the hog roast which would make plenty of pigs in buns for the carnivore guests.
On the day of the party, our Hog Roast Atherstone team arrived at the back garden venue in the early afternoon, at Scott’s home, where preparations were being made for his mum’s surprise 70th. After setting up our equipment, we got to work preparing the meat and before long it was roasting away for several hours. We kept an eye on it as it cooked and then later on got on with preparing and then cooking the veggie skewers and getting everything ready for the pigs in buns, including various fresh bread rolls and wraps, our own apple sauce and stuffing, some condiments and plenty of napkins.
By 6pm, while the hog was resting for a short while, the guests had all arrived and by the time the birthday girl arrived for her surprise party, we were ready to serve a great feast to the hungry family members and friends.
