If you are planning your wedding day, or even if you have hired a wedding planner to do so for you, you’ll know that the food served at your reception meal is a hugely important part of the day. It’s your choice, of course, but you also have to think about the personal tastes and dietary needs of others, to ensure that everyone can enjoy the food. It may be that you fancy our simple albeit tasty Hog Roast Studley pigs in buns for the main course, or even for the only course served, as we have done many times before, or that you want to add a starter and dessert, or some sides and additional mains. Plus when it comes to catering various diets, we have plenty of experience and plenty of choices to boot, so you can rest assured that everyone is well-fed on your special day.
Our Hog Roast Studley team recently catered a wedding that was organised by Julie, a wedding and events planner, who had been asked by the couple to book a hog roast as well as additional options. With our amazing pigs in buns served buffet-style to 80 guests for the main course, everyone would be suitably impressed, but the couple also wanted us to serve homemade canapés upon arrival, along with glasses of bubbly and orange juice, serve a starter of tomato soup and crusty bread rolls to the seated guests and do the same at the end of the meal with two handmade desserts – cheesecake and chocolate torte. We would also need to provide a vegetarian option for two guests, and Julie asked us to make veggie skewers with a tzatziki dip and pitta bread. These grilled skewers are full of halloumi and fresh vegetables, including tomatoes, mixed peppers, mushrooms, courgette and red onion, and the vegetarians would be able to eat the starter and desserts too.
On the day of the wedding feast, Hog Roast Studley met up with Julie hours beforehand and cooked a large pig from scratch at the lovely hotel venue, and prepared and cooked plenty of other yummy options too. The hog was stripped clean by the end of the night and all of the plates came back empty and were just about licked clean – and that’s when we know we have done our customers proud.
